All occurrences of favorable or poor weather were thought to be a direct result of godly intervention. Greeks attributed weather events to Poseidon, god of sea and earthquakes, Helios, god of sun, Selene, goddess of moon, Hephaestus, god of volcanoes, Chione, goddess of snow, Zeus god of sky, thunder, lightning and rain.
The ancient Greeks already had noticed that it's what goes on but Darwin was the first to write down his ideas into a surviving book, with a lot of detailed observations.

Yes
Definitely the Greeks.
Myths were used, not only by the Greeks and Romans, to explain that which could not be explained at the time. For example, they could not explain why natural disasters like earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and such happened so they explained it by attributing these things to a higher power, the gods, saying that the god so-and-so was upset for this such reason. (Myths were used to explain more than just natural disasters, mind you.)
The temples were the most important type of building, and the main religious beliefs were that there was a physical embodiment for everything in nature, and for things such as weather, natural disasters, and other things they couldn't explain.
They were used to explain natural phenomena.
Eighth/Seventh Century BCE writer Hesiod in his treatise Works and Days, being a farmer, explained weather and seasons in terms of its effects and cycles. Differently in Theognis (ascribed to him but obviously by a different author who is unlikely to be a farmer) it is the gods and their never-ending wrangles, which produce catastrophes.
They used myths from Zeus simply because they thought that the world was flat from the many pictures and murals made by the artists long ago.
They made up the gods and they made up different spirit's.
Greeks
The Greek Gods did not explain natural disasters the greek people did. If a volcano erupted the Greeks would say that Hades was angry if there was an earthquake the Gods would say Poseidon was angry. his calls 4 the waffle song!!! do you like waffles, yeah we like waffles, do you like pankakes, yeah we like pankakes, do you like french toast, yeah we like french toast do-do-dodo cant wait to get a mouth full. waffles!! waffles!!! waffles!!! do-do-dodo cant wait to get a mouth full of you and your cousins mom.
The Greeks made up Zeus, to somehow explain the otherwise inexplicable natural phenomena surrounding them.
you cant find Zeus because he is not real. the ancient Greeks used gods and goddesses to explain what they couldn't explain themselves like natural events and historical events.
Greek mythology actually was a relegion in ancient times, it was not called mythology though. It was created by the greeks to explain natural occurances or things that they could not otherwise explain. Another reason is that some blind people would tell stories and they were adopted as a myth.
