China signs a "Hands Off" treaty with Japan saying NOT to get in the way of Japan's plans for taking over Korea but the Chinese still send troops to help the Korean king from the invading Japanese.

Japan then sends troops to Korea and ultimately destroys the Chinese army.

You've really got to describe which war, because there were more than one. However, Japan usually started their wars using one of Clauswitz's principles of war: namely "surprise."

1. Japan commenced war with Russia in Feb 1904 with a surprise torpedo attack at Port Arthur with "Torpedo Boat Destroyers", the forerunner of today's destroyers.

2. Japan commenced war with America in Dec 1941 with a surprise torpedo/dive bomb attack at Pearl Harbor with "Torpedo Bombers and Dive Bombing Airplanes" launched from aircraft carriers.
