As with all wars, the people of Korea had to leave their homes, for safer locations; they were short of or rationed on medical supplies, doctors, schools, teachers, food, building material for new homes, and temporairly stopped from building new homes pending the end of the war.
As in most wars thru-out history, civilians were caught up in the conflict; on the upside, that nation's military thrived on the aid given to it by the supporting military nation, the US in the case of the Korean War. Those Koreans that survived the war, benefited from it by being stronger, and utilizing the advanced technology introduced to them from the outside military forces. Technologies that would allow a HIGHER STANDARD OF LIVING for the Koreans after the war.

why the Korean war started is because the North Koreans wanted the South Korean part of Korea "Communist, but the South Koreans believed in "Freedom". So the North Koreans decided to attack the South Koreans, because the North Koreans wanted there government to be incharge, on June 23rd 1950. That's what I think, I hope you understood that. Thanks.................................Elisha Winegardner!
The Korean War started on June 25,1950 when the North Koreans invaded the South.
