This was a time before people started farming, so if you wanted to eat you had to go where the food was.

Some people near coastal areas would hunt game during the summer and move to the coast for winter as shellfish was easy to find.

Others living inland followed the game as it migrated to better feeding areas.

That is why people moved north as it became warmer at the end of glaciations, they followed the game animals.
