China sent troops to help North Korea. The UN states
During the Korean war, China sent troops to help North Korea. The Soviet Union (Russia) also helped.
North Korea:)
North Korea was not in WWI
Korea had been under Japanese control since 1909. The Russians declared war against Japan August 7, 1945, the day after Hiroshima, as they had agreed to do at Yalta. They used the occasion to make territorial grabs from the Japanese, and so the Soviets landed in North Korea and took over, prompting the US to do the same in the south. The Soviets installed a communist regime in the north, which has outlived the Soviets.

Yes.
Probably if North Korea started a war, USA would go on and help South Korea for they are more friendly and because of similar government. China would help North Korea because of their similar government too. Japan would help South Korea because they are more of a close friend. Not because of a similar government. ---- if North Korea started a war, it would be my guess that USA, Japan, and China will help South Korea because North Korea is trying to send nuclear bombs to USA and other places.
Well Korea used to be one country, but then after World War II, Korea was taken away from Japan and became independent. But they decided not to be on country and they split into two countries, hence North and South Korea. North Korea became a communist government with the help of the soviet Union and South Korea became a democratic government with the help of the United States.
