I'm sure as you know in the 10 commandments the seventh day is a day of rest. The Seventh Day Adventists believe that Saturday is this day of rest. A better question might be, why would Sunday be all of a sudden considered the seventh day of the week? If you observe any calendar, what used to have Saturday as last day of the week is starting to slowly transfer into Sunday.. I believe they now call it the working week calendar. If you also draw attention to the other names of the week they were all named after some form of Astrology or Greek god. For example Sunday after the sun... Just because names change does not mean God's law has changed. He expressed clearly he would like us to rest on the seventh day and he marked his authority on this day. We believe by sticking to what is written in The Bible inevitably sets us apart from other beliefs and may make us stand out in a crowd. I can vouch that this is a hard thing to grasp, but I have found this often leads to explaining to someone what my religion is all about. That is what I believe spreading the Gospel is. Anyways sorry got sidetracked, point of the matter is, we are holding to what we believe is written and we are adamant to show others that it matters. I hope I answered this right =/ all the best.
