It didn't, and the US was to remain firmly isolationist and neutral until one and a half year later when Germany itself declared war on the US. Whatever help the only remaining Allied power, Britain, received in the meantime was the doing of President Roosevelt who cleverly used loopholes in US law concerning the export of weaponry, extended US territorial waters to halfway the Atlantic Ocean and disguised US help als 'strictly' commercial transactions.
France never actually fell to Italy. Mussolini did try to exploit France's weakness after her defeat by Germany by trying to invade the south of France and annex part of it. But even the remnants of France's army proved capable of defeating the Italian invasion forces and chasing them back to Italy.

Germany sure did. Germany took over Italy too, so Italy wasn't as powerful as Germany. The Germans sent bombs over England called V2 rockets. These things were mean since they were a bomb with a motor, so when the fuel ran out they fell on whatever they were over. Night after night they fell over London and the people had to hide in subways and bomb shelters. After the fall of the Roman Empire, the western part of the Roman Empire fell under the strain of the invasions by the Germanic peoples. These created their own kingdoms on lands which were previously belonged to this part of the empire: the Kingdom of the Vandals in north-western Africa, the Visigothic kingdom in Spain and Portugal, the Burgundian kingdom in eastern France and the Kingdom of the Franks in Belgium and northern and central France. Switzerland and north-eastern France (Alsace and Lorraine) were taken over by the Alemanni of southern Germany. Italy was invaded by the Ostrogoths and then by the Lombards. Eventually the Franks took over the whole of France, northern and central Italy and southern and central Germany. Finally, Charlemagne conquered northern Germany and controlled most of western Europe. The eastern part of the Roman Empire was not affected by the invasions and continued to exist for nearly 1000 years.
In the spring of 1940, Germany began taking over multiple countries. Denmark, Norway, Belgium, France, and the Netherlands all fell to Germany's control during this time. Germany also conquered Luxembourg, the Channel Islands and Romania in 1940.
