The Western European countries created several organizations. NATO is one example. This organization was created by Western Europe and the United States to protect Western Europe from a possible Soviet invasion. The Western European Union is another example. This union was created to unite Western Europe. However, this organization is now dissolved and was engulfed in the European Union in 2011. The European Union is also another example. Though this union now includes parts all over Europe, it was first created by Western European nations.
After World War II, Western Europe saw that they needed to work together and put all this fighting behind them. They looked towards peace and unity within the continent. This created many successful organizations that created a sense of unity and peace throughout the continent eventually leading to the most successful: the European Union.

European countries entered into military alliances that required them to protect one another from attacks
All European countries have a predominately pure European ancestry. Europeans, on average, compose over 90%+ of each European country's population, and in some cases, account for almost 100%. This includes all European ethnic groups and not just the country's native group. For example, the Ukraine is only about 78% Ukrainian (a European ethnic group) but is also about 17% Russian (another European ethnic group). But most countries, such as Germany, have their native group as over 90% of the population.
European nations were motivated to explore the Western Hemisphere and establish colonies due to factors such as the desire for wealth and resources, the spread of Christianity, competition between European powers, and the search for new trade routes to Asia. Additionally, the opportunity to expand territories and increase political power also played a significant role in driving exploration and colonization.
All of Africa was at one point or another an European posession, with the exception of Liberia.
