Well a few reasons would be: disease, enslavement, and superior technology.

Disease: The natives were susceptible to European diseases, so when British settlers came over the disease Small Pox spread throughout the natives. This eventually led to a huge population decline ( I believe 9 out of 10 natives died from European disease).

Enslavement: Before African slaves were introduced to the colonies Natives were used for slavery. Keeping the natives weak and overworked made it hard for a native uprising

Technology: The Europeans had one major advancement that the natives did not, this being gunpowder. The natives closest thing to a gun was the bow and arrow. The only downfall of the European gun was its reloading time, in the time it took for a European to load their gun a native could have shot a good 10-30 arrows depending on the archer. The gun was more lethal though, and with the British fighting tactics there was almost always a row of gunmen firing while another row of gunmen reloaded.

It was not a war between the French and Indians, it was a war between the British and French, with the Native Americans as allies on both sides.
