A bubo (Greek boubôn, "groin") (plural form: buboes) is the swelling of the lymph nodes. It is found in infections such as Bubonic Plague, gonorrhea, tuberculosis, chancroid or syphilis. It is similar in appearance to a huge blister, and usually appears under the armpit, in the groin or on the neck.
According to historical records, buboes were characteristic of the pandemic responsible for the Black Death and perhaps other ancient pandemics. At the time of such pandemics, it was commonly believed by doctors that buboes should be burst; hen feathers were reportedly used for such purposes. However, in modern medicine this treatment is not regarded as very useful or in fact harmful, as the puncture site could leave a patient at higher risk of infection.
Buboes rarely require any form of local care, but instead recede with systemic antibiotic therapy. In fact, for plague patients, incision and drainage poses a risk to others in contact with the patient due to aerosolization of the bubo contents. Needle aspiration can be performed for diagnostic purposes and may also provide symptomatic relief.
Very much so. The pain is said to be excruciating.
Buboes are the enlarged lymph nodes that are noticeable in victims of bubonic plague. Buboes occur in the lymph nodes of the armpit and groin areas of the body.

It affected them because the doctors stopped attending the patients that has buboes ( black death infection). And they died after three days
First you get nausea and start vomiting then you develop buboes or puss balls on your body and your body has excess blood and it goes nowhere and then you drown in your own blood.
They did not.
The Black plague affects your body by causing buboes, or blister-like pieces of skin that contain macrophages, which are dead immunity cells. It was called the Black Plague because of internal bleeding and that, when the blood dried it became black under the skin so the skin turned "black", or a really deep red.
Buboes were enlarged lymphnotic glands. They are mostly located on the neck, under the arms and around the groin. Buboes looked like bumps. Almost as if you stuck a ball underneath your skin. The buboes became black because they were filled with blood and other bodily fluids. This is how the Bubonic Plague (Black Death) got its name.
This is because buboes are the swelling of lymph nodes and the neck, groin and armpit are junctions of the major lymphatic vessels.
