Compilers ensured that there was no conflict between the Hadith and the teachings of the Qur'an, i.e. both the Qur'an and Hadith were in conformity and taught the same lessons. It could be added that they compared the body (matn) of the Hadith with reason, the Qur'an and other Hadiths to ensure that they agreed with the primary Islamic teaching. Answers could be further elaborated to state that they ensured the chain of transmitters (isnad) was unbroken and that the transmitter was a person of sound mind, good memory and upright character. From an Islamic perspective, the quotations from the Quran are called A'yat (verses) and not hadiths as hadiths merely refer to the sayings of the prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him). For more info, I suggest that you visit site: sultan.orgRegards

Some hadiths do not agree with each other.
Unfortunately, many of the Hadiths have not been correctly described. Anyhow, the Six authentic collections of Hadith, especially Sahih Bokhari and Sahih Muslim are the most authentic collections of Hadith.
The names of the collections come from the fact that the collections were seen to refer to the roughly 10% of Hadiths that were accurate or sahih (صحيح) in Arabic. The second name refers to the scholar who compiled the list, al-Bukhari (البخاري) or al-Muslim (المسلم). The two scholars, even though they used the same method to determine which hadiths were sahih and which were not, came up with distinct lists of what hadiths they believed were sahih. While they agreed on a large number of hadiths, the disagreements are noticeable and this is why there are different hadiths in the different collection. Other hadith collectors, like Abu Darda have still other hadiths that they consider sahih, but are rejected by both al-Bukhari and al-Muslim.
