The Confederacy was the political body of the six nations that made up the Iroquois and was the system that would organize their diplomatic relations. Both French and British colonies tried repeated to convince the Confederacy to join them during the French and Indian wars, but remained netural. The United States of America created their first international agreement with the Confederacy in 1794 at the Treaty of Canandaigua as a new indepedant Nation.
