How did the creation of electric power change the lives of people?

With electricity night games could be played and stores, bars, and restaurants could be open later. The invention of the neon light was made and the world lit up with color on the new movie marquees. The past sources for lighting was very dangerous, so electricity provided a safer means to have light. Before electricity natural gas was used for lights in homes and on streets. Often something would go wrong with the gas and buildings would burn down. Cars were just starting to crowd streets and electricity provided street lights for traffic control. Electricity has given us our world today. Try living without it for a day or two.
