Te connection was that no matter where you were you were a slave and the supreme court ruled that he was still a slave because they thoughts that blacks should be slaves.

the connection was that it didnt matter where you were living as a slave . if you were black and you were not free you were a slave which meant you had no right to vote and no right to sue. its sad but its true
