It is also true that without a lot of recharging stations, people will not buy an electric car if the only place they can recharge the battery is at their house with an electric outlet they can plug into. The lack of recharging stations for the average person to plug their electric car into could bring an end to any hope that the electric car can wean the USA (or other countries) from imported fossil fuel energy.
