the great wall protected the Yuan dynasty because every time someone tried to climb it (witch was the only was to get past) they would die because of the Asian heat burning against the wall would be so it would kill them but there was also a whole load of soldiers with bows and arrows to shoot them off the wall so they would fall and die

Physically, it was not that important at all. The reason the Great Wall was built was to protect the Chinese from the Manchurian invades in the north. In reality, the wall is not really a protective barrier, as it was not impossible to scale. In many parts, mountains and harsh terrain serve as better protection than the wall itself. Still, it did not stop the Mongols from invading and establishing the Yuan Dynasty centuries later. But the wall was (and is) simply a testament to China's strength, a symbol of power that acted as an ideological unifier to Qing Shi Huangdi's (the emperor of the first dynasty) subjects.
