How did religions start?

In Europe the religions was very varied. But most of it was centered around Christianity.

That is until King Henry wanted to divore his wife, Catherine of Aragon. He made the Church of England, so from that time on, England has its very own religion.

No one really knows how religion started. I think it is when Jesus was born and he spread words about God and that became CHristianity.

I believe Religion was started to try and makes sense of the world/universe we live in. And later on it was modified to be a set of moral values for us to follow eg. Dont steal, Dont murder etc..Different cultures thought the natural world was created differently and that is, in my opinion, how so many religions came to be.

Religious doctrines that originated in Babylon, such as the immortality of the soul, hellfire, and the worship of triune gods, are shared by virtually all religions. Jesus instituted true Christianity, a way of life based on love. In it, all thoughts and actions are to harmonize with God's will, for the purpose of bringing honor and glory to his name. (Matthew 22:37-39; Hebrews 10:7) Behind Jesus teaching on this way of life was his Father Jehovah.
