I do not believe that Olaundah Equiano was the main person that contributed to abolishing slavery because he was a slave himself and bought his freedom. He made lots of publicity and awareness by writing his book and making a campaign against slavery. His book showed a lot of people just how bad it was and why it needs to be abolished. It was also the first autobiography made by a freed slave living inEngland. The things that he put in his book were about how a shocking 45% of black people that were captured from their homes died before they even got to England. Another thing that was included in his book was about his own horrifying journey from Africa to England.
