They sent a link back through time to the master (4 beats/heartbeat of a time lord/drumming noise) all the way back to when he first looked into the time vortex. The master then sent the signal back to where it came from (the time lords), who then made the link physical by sending the diamond to earth (white point star), which the master then used to make the connection - allowing them to return.
Wow thanks i get most of the story now, I've watched it 3 times and its a bit confusing.. lol
So does that mean the place where the time lords were at the start of the 09 xmas special part 2 is like where they go when theyre dead, and they wernt actually alive????? because i don't understand if they all died then where did that lot come from??
No they weren't dead, there was a time-war between the time lords, the darleks and other species, and the doctor found out that Rassilon (the president) was planning the 'final sanction' (where the timelords were going to free themselves of physical bodys and merely become spirits) so he, the doctor, had to put them in a 'time lock' - which meant nothing could get in or out (the signal was only able to get through because they sent it back through time to when the master was a child - so it was there before the time lock was issued.
It is a bit confusing
Ok, i know I'm proboblay being a bit annoying, but two more questions, Ok. 1) When the time war ended did all the time lords die? 2) And if they did how did they manage to appear back again from extinction?
The time war didn't end, it was locked in time, which meant the time lords weren't dead, they were just trapped (as nothing can get in or out of a time lock).
-Meaning when the doctor broke the signal, the timelords didn't die, they just went back into the time war - to be trapped again.
So when the doctor kept saying he's the last of his kind (before he knew of the master) he really mean't the last of his kind to be accessable, because he thought that the time lords couldn't come out of the time lock...?
Thank you alot, you have been a great help! Xxx
Timelords - role-playing game - happened in 1987.
No, the Master survived, and in the new years special of Doctor Who, 2009/2010, they all return only to die again.
It was done by "The Timelords", which in actuality is The KLF.
Yes, the Timelords.
he cant as the timelords history has been timelocked and it would create a paradox Even if he could, the Timelords were planning on destroying all life in the universe, which is why he killed them in the first place. So why would he choose to save them.
THE DOCTOR is the last of the timelords. The rest where killed in the time war by the inferno THE DOCTOR used. He never intended to survive but did! In series three or four in 2 episodes (last of the timelords + sound of drums) he mmets another timelord known as THE MASTER who doesn't really like THE DOCTOR (sadly). It is also mentioned in one episode with THE FACE OF BOE / CAPTIN JACK (sorry for spoilers) that the FACE OF BOE will tell his secret to " one lonley traveller without a home " in which the doctor relsises its him, the secret is that he is not the last of the timlords!!! IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE EPISODE DO NOT SCROLL DOWN !!! I MEAN IT !!! ***************In the end THE MASTER turns evil and tries to kill THE DOCTOR but is deafeted and dies, whch means THE DOCTOR returnes to be the last of the timelords! and the sad "lonley traveller" p.s:when i watch somtimes i feel sorry for him being the only one left and always losing his companions!!!
Not to the knowledge of the human race, no.
There are male (the Doctor, the Master etc.) and female (Romana, the Rani, Susan etc.) timelords. It's pretty easy to figure out from there.
Utopia, The sound of the drums and The last of the timelords... but Utopia is when he first meets professor YANA
The planet of the Timelords is called Gallifrey. It was destroyed in the Great Time War.
It is called, the time war True, and there were several of them, the last and most devastating of which resulted in the extinction of The Time Lords as a race.
Gallifrey is in the constellation of Kasterborous, which is in (as the TimeLords know it) Mutters Spiral, or as the humans know of it - the Milky Way.
