In every war from WWI to Vietnam, one unknown was selected to be interned next to the tomb at Arlington (the WWI unknown is buried under the main tomb structure, and WWII, Korea, and formerly a Vietnam unknown under flat grave markers in front of the tomb). The Vietnam unknown remains were eventually identified and reinterred, and there have be no unknowns since Vietnam due to DNA testing and other modern ID methods.
