The American declaration of war against Germany forced the Germans to try and end the war quickly before Amercan manpower could break the stalemate. The Germans exhausted their reserves and the allies used new revolutionary tactics developed by Canadian commander Arthur Currie and continued to push the Germans back until the Kaiser agreed to an armistice with the allies. The U.S. army fought a few insignificant battles and took in alot of unnecessary casualties and Woodrow Wilson stood by and did nothing while Britain and France tore Germany a new one in the treaty of Versailles which would eventually give rise to Nazi Germany and the second World War.
