How did the views of woman change in the renaissance period?

It really didn't change much. Women were either seen as virgins or sinners. They were unable to own property, noble women were contracted to marry while still children to older men, and they were not given civil rights. Women were chattel in most cases, but there were a few who were able to break free. Katherine of Aragon was one woman who could do what she wanted. She went to the crusades, owned her property, was the mother of 3 kings, and the wife of two. She had a lot of power, but this was unusual in this time period.
