Weather played a part in the Spanish Armada off Corunna and Ireland. At Corunna, a storm blew the Armada off course and to split apart, which took months to regroup. At Ireland, storms blew 19 ships inshore smashing against rocks and breaking up. The Spaniards who made it to shore were beaten, robbed, stripped and even killed by the local Irish people
The weather was one of the main causes of the Spanish defeat. There was a series of powerful westerly gales which drove many ships onto the rocks. The year 1588 was marked by some very strong Atlantic storms
The Spanish Armada was scattered by storms in the English Channel. They were forced to sail north, to round the top of Scotland, suffering more stormy weather, and then head south past Ireland.
It played a major role in the defeat of the Spanish. They lost 65 ships and over 20,000 men

1588. English naval forces (with some help from bad weather) defeated the Spanish forces. The battle was won, not the actual Armada. The fleet was sunk or scattered by bad weather. Some ships limped back home.

No this is not true as Sir Francis Drake did not loose his war with the Spanish Armada. as the Armada were very large ships and Drakes were smaller , the Spanish cannonballs flew above the English ships, sand the English shells hit the Armada ship in the centre causing damage.
Hurricanes, hail, lightning, tornados, flooding are all examples of weather that can cause damage.
