Like all changes there is resistance. Professional photographers would only accept digital when the quality had become acceptable. The first Pro camera I used was a Nikon with 5 million pixel chip which by todays standard is pretty poor. The quality and convenience, and reduced costs (no film or processing costs) have made the taking of pictures a real pleasure. Obviously there are still photographers using film. Some of the latest Nikon cameras also have broadcast quality video facility so the camera is ideal for a news photographer who needs and can send video.
