Communism and Capitalism are opposing political philosophies. While there was a mutual need for cooperation during World War II, once the war was over, that cooperation evaporated. The Soviets remained in areas they had agreed to leave, allowing the countries to have free elections and decide which form of government the citizens wanted. While occupied, those countries had no choices, they simply were swallowed up by the Soviet Union.
