They probably downloaded it from a number of skin websites. Skindex is probably the best one. But there are others.
Once downloaded. Go to minecraft.net and log in and go to 'profile' then press browse files under 'Skins' then once selected epload the image (it should be a PNG) by pressing upload. Then play minecraft and you should be what you downloaded.
