I think what they expect from you is a concrete example about what you have experienced rather than to solve the question analytically .
The thing we need to clarify here is how "listen well" defined. This may be understood as your ability to collect information from other sources, from other point of views. It is also the ability to understand the matter thoroughly and the ability of analyzing to get to the nature of a problem.
Of course, people may have different feelings, different perspectives on the same subjects. That may result from their point of views or from the amount of information they have. It is also true for a person individually. You might have some feelings about one matter and your feelings may not correct. After that you are provided with sufficient information that help you understand the problem better and you will probably think of it in a different way.
