Precious little hot weather where the puffins live. If they should get hot however they could just take a dip in the ocean.
The Atlantic Puffin has a downy under-plumage that provides thermal insulation in the cold. The molt and lose the downy feathers in warmer weather to keep cool.

Bears hibernate in cold weather. Bears have everything they need for protection! Would a normal person honestly go and bother a sleeping bear during the winter?
