Vishnu Purana and the Pada Purana says that in the beginning of creation, the great Vishnu, desirous of cheating the world, became three fold: creator Brahma, preserver Vishnu and the destroyer Shiva. Vishnu therefore, is one yet threefold who not only creates but also preserves and destroys. Trimurti is one body with three heads : in the middle it is the Brahma; on the right, it is Vishnu and on the left, Shiva. Worshiping one of them should therefore mean worshiping all the three. But in reality, will it be so??? As for example - i.One of the four heads of Brahma was burnt off by the fire of Shiva's central eye because Brahma had spoken disrespectfully to Shiva. If Brahma and Shiva are one as the scripture says, showing disrespect by Brahma to Shiva is disrespect to self only. Burning Brahma's head will also mean mean destroying self. ii.Mohini in Hindu Scripture is actually Vishnu in female form. The Product of Shiva's union with Mohini was Ayenar, the only male among the Grama-devatas. Now the question is, Vishnu is Shiva and also Mohini in female form. Isn't the Shiva's union with Mohini is the union with self only??? Therefore, though the scripture says that they are one, in reality, they are not. Hence they should be worshiped separately to receive specific blessings from each one of them.
