I have never heard of a giraffe killing themselves by getting tangled up. But, this may have happened, so my suggestion to you is that, because of how long their necks are, during a giraffe fight two males could've gotten their necks twisted around each others' necks too tightly.
Giraffes are herbivores, plant eaters, and don't really set out to kill any one.
With that said, they're big and powerful animals, and they will kick or trample someone who's seen as a threat, and may well end up killing someone that way. Males fighting have been known to kill the opponent occasionally, with the accidental "lucky" strike.
And of course, if you're an insect, lurking in their favourite food, be prepared to meet a sticky end.
of course giraffes dont kill at all , only sometimes in 100% defence!
they are loving gentle creatures and are good vegitairians !!!
I agree with the above answer, but I do want to add that in zoos sometimes, giraffes have killed people. It happened in Cincinnati several times because the giraffes were in a moated enclosure with a low cement wall around it and they would lean their long necks out to get peanuts or leaves from spectators. A spectator was holding their child on the low wall and the giraffe accidentally knocked the kid into the moat with its neck.
Giraffes, like all animals, eventually die. They can die from being sick or having a disease, from a accident or attack, or from old age.
