Sometimes there is a signature on a painting that tells you who the artist is. However, sometimes these signatures can be fake. If you are unsure, it is best to take the painting to an expert.

My only suggestion would be to perhaps, using the style of the painting as a guide, look through a nearby library's artist books, perhaps if the piece is famous or popular enough, you will be able to find it. A tedious task but it may work, if it doesn't you could also take parts or objects which you feel to be of significance, and search them on Google or another search engine, experiment around with the words and add 'Art pieces' to the end to refine the search using Images on Google or the other search Engines.

For example, if you have a piece from the Boris Vallejo, you may use key objects such as a person in the piece:

Is she painted them a picture a figurative language?

It depends. If She actually painted a picture, then no. If She described something in minute detail, then yes.AnswerYou would use figurative language to describe how she painted the picture: she flung the paint at the canvas, her brushstrokes were languidly added in yellow drops. You want to have the reader visualize how she painted.
