- Trust is earned by everyone young or old. If you want your mother to trust you then you have to earn her respect and a good start is by helping her out with chores around the house; studying and getting decent grades; not arguing every time you feel you can't have your way, but discuss the problem without yelling. Don't sneak out of the house; hang around a bad crowd or come home later than you promised your mother. If you do all these things she will trust you more and more. Mothers are not about lacking trust so much in their children, but they love their children and whether a young person likes it or not an adult has had far more experience in life and know how many dangers especially young women can get into so she is trying to keep you safe. Try communicating on a one to one basis with your mother by sharing some of your feelings as your mother is not a psychic and cannot know always what you feel.
