First of all, disconnect from the internet. This will prevent it "resurrecting" itself while you are removing it.

You may now reconnect to the internet.
Step Two - Browser cleaning
- Go into your browser (every browser you have installed on your computer, not just the one you use regularly). Check the extensions and plugins pages in the settings. Remove all the 3rd party plugins and extensions that you never willingly installed.
You may also have to reset your homepage and your default search engine.
Step Three - Computer cleaning
- Download and install the free Junkware Removal Tool (click). Once installed, run it and allow it to perform what it needs to do.
- When that is complete, download and install the free MalwareBytes tool (click). Once installed, perform a scan (it may ask you to update first, choose yes in this case).
- This step is optional. Once the above two are complete, download and install the free HitmanPro 3 software (click). Perform the actions it needs. (Again, this is optional. An extra peace of mind). Read the information on the linked page to decide whether you want to do this step or not.
In the future, scan downloaded files before you open or run them. Do this by right-clicking them and clicking "Scan with *name of your anti-virus*".
If you do not have an anti-virus, you should get one. AVG offers a free version of their anti-virus (click).
