Press the reset button on your car CD player. For example my kenwood would have the reset button located on the facia front.
Kenwood car stereos have protect mode and sometimes it gets turned on. If someone wants to turn it off, they need to remove the stereo and unplug different wires to determine which one is causing the protect mode to be on.

To set the date, the receiver must be in the "Standby" mode. Sources -> Standby Then the date menu item will appear in the setup menu.
