FIRST!!!!!!!!!!!!!Disconnect the neg battery cable from the battery. Then wait a few minutes before disconnecting the air bag connection.

(12.7cm).Remove the rack and pinion mounting bolts, then remove the steering gear by maneuvering it through the left wheel opening.
To replace the thermostat on a 1998 Cadillac, locate the area you will be working in. The thermostat is located at the rear of the engine on the drivers side. Then locate the upper hose. Remove the upper hose from the housing and disconnect the unit. You can then safely replace the thermostat piece.

Watch out for the airbag! From the manual (which you should buy if you are going to do this job safely), you need to disconnect the battery and wait for a few minutes before attempting to work on the steering wheel. THEN you can remove the airbag, disconnect the horn and cruise control, remove the steering nut, use a puller to take off the steering wheel, reset the clockspring etc... Not terribly difficult if you are comfortable working with the airbag, but also not something to do without the PICTURES in the manual. Your safety is not worth $12 spent on Amazon for the old manual.
Always disconnect the negative cable first and reconnect the negative cable last. Do this and you won't get into trouble.
You need to purchase a Fluorescent dimmer switch, no circuit can dim the brightness of the light safely.
Establish which terminal is connected to ground and disconnect the wire from the terminal. Disconnect the terminal on the other battery that is connected to the load. Finally disconnect the loop between the batteries.

Steering wheels shaking are usually attributed to bad steering racks. The steering rack is unstable and will not be able to safely control the vehicle. It should be replaced.
Disconnect the battery. With the care safely raised, remove the two bolts holding the starter on. Disconnect the wires. Reverse the procedure to install the new starter.
