Jehovah's Witnesses believe The Bible in regard to sin, what it is and how it originated. Sin is, according to the bible "lawlessness" ; it is not reaching god's perfect standards. This can be deliberately (because we have little regard for his requirements) or because we are imperfect and prone to error. The bible shows us that all humans inherited this tendence to sin from our first parents Adam and Eve, who deliberately sinned in rebelling against god and disobeying a clear command not to eat from a certain tree. Thus tainted they could do nothing but pass on this imperfection genetically to their offspring. The Bible goes so far as to state: "All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."-Romans 3:23. While no human can avoid falling short of Gods standards, we can avoid practicing or making a habit of doing the things that God specifically requests we do not do. But striving to please god and avoid these unclean practices we can avail ourselves of Gods provision of forgiveness through the randsom sacrifice of His son. Thus obedient humans, although inherently imperfect can gain gods approval and the hope, when "gods will [is]done on earth, as it is in heaven" of being freed from bondage to sin and even death.
Witnesses view sin as something that seperates them from God. They believe that all humans inherited sin from Adam.
