an apparently real-life girl, in the story line, finds herself down the rabbit hole into a fantastic world. there are obvious similarities with Oz, but that is revealed at the end to be a bad dream or nightmare. Alice in Wonderland also ties into the classic (?)theme of a party run amuck or even dangerous ( Mamma told me not to come( song), a number of more or less moralizing tales about wild parties- and stretching things, even fictional treatments of the Titanic disaster.
