For the first three hundred years after Jesus, there was a constant argument between two different groups of Christians. The Trinitarian Christians - in Greece and Rome - fought hard against the Unitarian Christians - who were in Palestine (Israel, as it is called by many) and North Africa. The Unitarian Christians ( who are also called 'Judeo-Christians' ) believed that Jesus was the Messiah, but that he never claimed to be equal to God. They followed Jesus as a Prophet. They did not, however, worship him. They believed in the One and Only God - and they kept the Law of Moses, which Jesus himself also did. In the year 312, the emperor Constantine gathered a group of the most knowledgable, in the city of Nicene ( at the famous Nicinian Council ) in order to end the disagreement. They put all four hundred gospels in a locked room and went to pray for a miracle. The next day, sure enough, there was a "miracle". They opened the room and found only four gospels left - Matthiew, Mark, Luke and John ! Who had the key to the room? Immediately, Constantine began a bloody war against the Unitarian Christians, killing as many as he could. Interestingly enough, it was the Unitarian Christians who believed that there would come one more Prophet after Jesus.
