How do Muslims perform the salah or praying if they are busy?

Muslims are commanded to perform five prayers a day. Each of the prayers is conditioned to be performed as early as possible within a specific time span. Refer to the related question and related link below for the prayer times.

However, one of the basic principles of the religion is to seek easiness rather than complications and to be in harmony with Muslim convenient life rather than confronting with his life.

Accordingly, if the prayer time is due while one cannt perform it for an obligatory reason, then he may perform it later even out of its due time and God, per His will, may forgive him. However, this depends on how strong is the reason. For example, if a surgeon is doing a medical operation while the prayer time is due and if he quits for praying he will endanger the patient life, then sure he can perform the prayer as soon as possible after concluding the medical operation. Other examples are the firemen during distinguishing fire or train driver while he is in duty, etc..

On the other hand, if one is working in office and busy in his work then this is not an excuse to delay the praying. If he quits for few minutes for praying he will gain God satisfaction and blessings that could support him in concluding his work even more successfully. If one is busy in shopping, or watching movie, some routine work, reading a book, ... etc... these are not excuses to delay praying in due time... It is true the saying that we disobey God with what His Majesty blessed us with.. If you have true faith that your work is by blessing of God and only God who qualified you and guided you to get this work, you will never forbid yourself from quitting this work for five minutes to pray for God to be thankful and obedient to Him. Compare what you do if your work boss calls you to his office for a meeting with what you do when God, your and your boss Creator, calls you for five minutes, knowing that your boss calls you to get from you something he needs while God calls you to give you something you need.

To sum up, it is matter of faith. You can judge by yourself if the excuse to delay the prayer is true and really valid or not and Allah (God) the All-Knowing and All-Merciful will judge your behavior and choice with just and fairness.
