Pancreas squirts enzymes into the small intestine to break down the fat, protein and starch into the chemical soup that an hour ago was something else, cells of small intestine itself produce enzymes to complete processes. As enzymes do their work smaller and smaller fragments are liberated from the chemical soup and are absorbed into the blood and lymph through the cell's of the small intestine wall. Diffusion. This is also how our blood carries cell waste to the liver to be filtered. The composition of our blood is in constant change, with nutrients and waste dissolved into the water within us. Higher water content makes the feed/waste cycle easier to be accomplished. Blood circulation is the constant stirring or mixing of the nutrients and cell waste. This is why dehydration is a slow, painful death. The fluids within us slowly thicken to a the point of non circulation.
