Lets assume that "shrine" means place of prayer. Catholic Christians usually have things for symbolism: Mary, a rosary; Jesus, a crucifix or cross; God, nothing (they believe he is everywhere so having something to symbolize him would be redundant). Non-Catholic Christians don't usually have a "shrine" Hindus usually have figurines that symbolize the god or gods that they or their family pray to. Shintos usually have basic shrines to remember their deceased family members. Buddhists usually have a statue of the Buddha (but they don't pray to him, they just thank him)
