The activity network does NOT represent the time component of a PFD because it does not take account of resource constraints, which includes time. It identifies the tasks that have to be carried out and the order in which they have to be executed.
A project network illustrates the relationships between activities (or tasks) in the project. Showing the activities as nodes or on arrows between event nodes are two main ways to draw those relationships. With activities on arrow (AOA) diagrams, you are limited to showing only the finish-to-start relationships - that is, the arrow can represent only that the activity spans the time from the event at the start of the arrow to the event at the end. As well, "dummy" activities have to be added to show some of the more complex relationships and dependencies between activities. These diagrams came into use in the 1950's, but are now falling into disuse. Activity on node (AON) diagrams place the activity on the node, and the interconnection arrows illustrate the dependencies between the activities. There are more flexible and can show all of the major types of relationships. Since the activity is on a node, the emphasis (and more data) usually can be placed on the activity. AOA diagrams emphasize the milestones (events); AON networks emphasize the tasks.

In project management, particularly in network diagrams, "activity on node" (AON) and "activity on arrow" (AOA) represent different methods for illustrating project tasks. In AON, nodes represent activities, and the arrows indicate the relationships or dependencies between them, allowing for easier identification of slack time directly related to each activity. Conversely, in AOA, the arrows represent activities, and nodes represent events, which can complicate the identification of slack as it is associated with the events rather than the individual activities. As a result, slack management can be more straightforward in AON compared to AOA.

A dummy activity is used in project management, particularly in the critical path method and program evaluation review technique (PERT), to represent a logical dependency between tasks without consuming time or resources. It helps clarify relationships between activities, particularly when two or more tasks converge or diverge, ensuring accurate scheduling and project flow. By visualizing these dependencies, dummy activities improve the understanding of the project timeline and help prevent misinterpretations in complex project networks.
Hang time depends on your vertical component of velocity when you jump. The higher the vertical velocity, the longer your feet will be off the ground. The horizontal component of velocity does not affect hang time.
According to a study by Arbor Networks the peak time for web traffic is 11 p.m. Eastern time. The study further noted that a smaller peak is achieved at 4 p.m., and then declines until 8 p.m., when activity starts to spike again.
It is the time between successive packets.

Human movement can create patterns in space and time as individuals interact with their environment and one another. The center of activity typically emerges as a result of higher levels of human density or activity in a specific location, such as a city center or a popular gathering spot. These patterns can be influenced by factors like transportation networks, urban planning, and social dynamics.
