You can annotate books on the Kindle by highlighting and taking notes. If you want to highlight something, you use the arrow keys to go to the beginning of the sentence. Then you click the center button to start highlighting. You use the arrow keys to go to the end of the sentence, and then you push the center button again to stop highlighting. To make notes, you use the arrows to go to the spot in the text you want to make notes at and you start typing. The highlights are underlined and the notes have a superscript number next to them. They can be accessed if you go the menu in the book and click on 'view my notes and marks'.
