well, i have heard there are 75 dead bugs i 2 cups of cereal.. but dont lose those appetites! b/c i dont think anyone has proved it!!! == All processed food products are allowed by law to have a certain degree of contaminants (including insect parts) included in the final product. This is because it would be next to impossible to remove all microscopic organic bits from anything that was originally grown in soil (such as cereal grains). The box of cereal that you buy today is much more free from non-foodstuffs than anything available in the past would have been, as people are more concerned about sanitary standards today than anytime in the past.

they get in by slipping through the tiny holes the machines haven't sealed and if when your opening the flour and it comes of very easy that's a clue that the bugs have eaten part of the glue or slipped through the holes.

The bugs are in the flour when you buy it. They are in the Larvea stage if I remember right. It takes a long time normally for them to "hatch". Your flower was probably really old. I read this years back so I don't remember the exact details.

Do bugs have nutritious value?

Insects absolutely have nutritious value such as protein. In addition, they also contain iron and loads of calcium and phosphorus -- not to mention vitamins such as that which is found in your daily multivitamin. Eating bugs is actually very common; there is an endless amount of bugs that it is perfectly okay to eat. In many countries, people continue to eat them to this day. Some examples are grasshoppers, field crickets, grubs and cicadas. Many people do not realize that they eat a small amount of bugs each day. There are bugs that very easily get into bread and, in fact, bugs continually get into the flour that is milled in granaries. The black specks in your bread could actually be bugs in the grain
