like any other radio - they have an antenna. The real question is how do they receive with clarity, and how do they receive when you can't see the antenna... Any radio circuit needs a radiator (antenna of some form) in order to collect electromagnetic (radio) waves that are at or near the center frequency desired. In a typical AM/FM radio, you have the 500Khz band and the 108mhz radio band... two very different frequencies.... Vehicle antennas are tuned (cut to length) at the denter of the FM band. They rely on raw amplitude modulation to receive AM signals. (This is why you lose your AM station when driving under a tunnel or between two hills...)
HD car radios are no different than regular radios, other than their more complex decoding hardware.
No. Radios are usually different from one car to the next.
Among the most established manufacturers of audiophile car radios are Sony, Alpine, Kenwood and Pioneer. Car radios are either installed by the vehicle manufacturers or by car owners as part of after-market upgrades.
Better reception there.
his hobby when he was younger was fixing car radios, and other radios.

(Adam and Eve and the Titanic) Actually: Table top radios and Console radios used in the living rooms of peoples houses.
You Don't. thxkbai
Legacy radios receive RF radio signals.Satellite Radios operate at the Microwave spectrum and require completely different receivers.
Car radios were invented to give people the ability to listen to current events that may affect their route of travel ( this is the reason we use citizen band radios or "CB" radios in our cars or trucks) or to just give the driver or passengers some interesting entertainment to listen to and to make their trip more enjoyable.
In most cases it boils down to the antenna. Most home radios have a a built-in coiled antenna.Other reasons are "gain" issues. this is a slightly more complicated issue, but in short, a car radio is designed to adjust it's "gain" based on the signal strength of a moving source.Home radios are not designed to do this because, well your house doesn't move. However, some older model radios did come with a manual gain control.Long story short, your car radio is more sensitive
