There are many different pay "schemes" for automotive salespeople. Some are salaried (very few and usually only the TOP sellers), some are on salary PLUS commission - others are on STRAIGHT commission (i.e. - no sales=no pay). "Commission" salespeople usually get a percentage of the sales price of the vehicle - often they can gain a percentage commission if they place a loan with a certain lender - they can gain commission by selling an extended service warranty - they can gain commission by selling additional features and options. Dealerships (new and used) are either independent or part of national, regional,. or local chains. All have varying pay plans.
Most car salesmen are paid on commission, depending on the number of cars they sold that month.
The size of a commission for car salesmen is calculated by the profit of the vehicle. The salesman gets a percentage of the profit of the vehicle.
Most car sales people make minimum wage for the area that they are in. HOWEVER, this is if they are not selling anything. When they make a sale, they get commission on the sale and that can add up to some pretty good money.
Most car salesmen work on commission, earning either a percentage of the vehicle price or a flat rate bonus for each vehicle sold. The salesman will likely receive close to minimum wage so as to be most incentivised by the commission bonus.
It depends on how good they are, what their commission rate is, and the value of the vehicles they're selling.
Starting out car salesmen make 1500-3000 a month , most are paid a % of the profit the Dealer makes. I A good salesmen can make 200,000 or even more in the right store. but most around 30,000 a year.
"SALESMEN" EARN 10% COMMISSION ON WHAT HE SELLS. THIS IS STANDARD OPS. NOW-A-DAYS SOME CO. WILL OFFER YOU A COMMISSION OR STANDARD SALARY.
New car salesmen usually only make $200 per sale. It varies from dealership to dealership. Car values also play into the commission. A BMW salesman will make more than a Honda salesman.
If I'm not mistaken, Sam Ash salesmen are paid on a commission basis, si it would depend on how much they sell.
Totally depends on the commission structure of the company, the position the company is in and how they feel like salesmen should be paid. On a 1 to 1 structure, an office supply salesmen selling 75k a month at 28% margin would make $5880/mo. however, on a straight line commission of 23% of GP dollars the No decent salesmen that has experience should make less than $40k/year selling anything B2B. If you are offered less, then take caution in how they value good salesmen.
