I have a 2003 Sorento and hopefully for you it is the same. I assume you mean change the Centigrade temp reading to Fahrenheit? Here is the complete wording from the manual: If the battery has been discharged or disconnected, the temp mode will reset as Centigrade. This is normal condition and you can adjust the temp mode from centigrade to Fahrenheit as follows: Press the Temperature "Down button" 3 seconds or more with the "AMB" button held down. The display shows that THE UNIT OF TEMPERATURE IS ADJUSTED TO CENTIGRADE OR FAHRENHEIT.
It works as I changed my battery and had the same problem.
They never did so. They didn't finish the transition to metric in the first place. By the way, metric IS the standard. Feet, etc. is non-standard.
You multiply it by some conversion value
