We do not have any religious ceremonies with regard to a birth. To us, birth is only the beginning, and the person has not yet made a name or reputation with God. I personally would compare the birth of a child to a planting an unidentified seed in the ground that the sower has to wait until the plant grows to find out what kind of seed it was. Often, the parents, or the friends of the parents will hold a baby shower, but this is not for religious or ceremonial reasons. This is merely an act of kindness by friends and family for congradulatory reasons and to give them gifts to possibly provide some needed items for the child and material assistance as needed.
Many (not all) Christians celebrate birth by having a baptism ceremony where they give the baby a Christian name, designate godparents, and sprinkle water on the baby's head.

No. Adoption papers cannot be sign until there is a child and legally they do not exist until after birth. Promising something before birth will have no legal stand. A mother will have the option to change her mind when she sees her child. That is only fair.

There are many differences between the two religions in general. While Christians celebrate the sacrament of baptism, pagans (very broad term) celebrate birth with a blessing. Christians believe God had placed original sin on his children and water from a church will erase that sin. Pagans (very broad term) may believe that with birth a blessing will give them a good start toward their future. They mainly believe this because they don't believe there is any sin to forgive in a newly born child.
