It's ability to subsist off of grass only is one, by utilizing her ability to ruminate (chew cud) and have a large rumen to ferment and digest the plants they eat to use them for energy. They are prey animals, but are a large size and often an aggressive nature towards predators which enable them to protect their calves and ensure their survival.
Cows live like any other animal.
A cow can survive if her calf is dead in her womb. But if that calf is not expelled or pulled out soon, she could die as well.

No. Cattle are tough critters, provided they have adequate shelter, food, water and comfort to survive the frigid winters.
The problem with this question is that a person assumes that, upon artificially inseminating a cow, that semen is taken directly from the tank of liquid nitrogen and put into the cow, which is not true at all. The semen that is taken from the tank where it has kept frozen is always thawed out and warmed to room temperature before it enters the cow. A cow is worth a lot of money, and to do something that stupid and careless is beyond reason because semen frozen to being at least -200 degrees F and put into a cow right away will cause a lot of damage to the cow's reproductive system and render her infertile, something which no producer wants from any of his/her cows.
A "cow" is a cow when that "cow" is a she and she has given birth to at least one calf.

A cow is already independent and able to survive independently, since she's a mature female bovine that has already given birth to a calf or two.
No, cows have evolved to eat vegetation safely. However, you shouldn't feed a cow nothing but lettuce as it does not have all the nutrients the cow will need to survive.
If it is not given milk it will die.
It is the same as and no different from a cow's structural adaptation to survive in its environment.
Cows don't make sperm, bulls do. Sperm, once in the cow, will only survive for around 24 to 72 hours.
