Desert animals are specially adapted to the dry conditions. Most of them do not need to drink water, but obtain sufficient moisture from the foods they eat. Some desert animals burrow down deep to find water. Others are specifically "shaped" to collect water. For example, the body of the thorny devil in Australia is completely covered in sharp spikes which actually collect the moisture that condenses in the early morning (or the occasional rains) and channel it directly down towards its mouth.

They live and survive in their habitat. Just like all the other animals in other climates in the world. Some animals in the desert, like camels, can live without water for days. Others can burrow. I think, not KNOW, that burrowing animals can actually find food underground. They do things to help them survive. But don't think that they don't like their homes. Its where they live they have been there for a long time. So they get used to it. They get water by burrowing and from plants like the barrel cactus.
Two nonliving limiting factors for a desert ecosystem are water availability and temperature extremes. The lack of water restricts the growth and survival of plants and animals in the desert, while temperature fluctuations can pose challenges for organisms trying to adapt to hot days and cold nights.
Some animals go into underground burrows, some animals simply hide out in the shade of desert trees and shrubs.
not very long- all animals need water, about 2 days i suppose false gerbils can go longer than a Camel so 5,6,7,maybe 8 days!
Plants are adapted to growing in cooler or wetter areas, preserving their own water, and having slower growth. They can grow on cooler areas where water is less likely to evaporate or takes longer to evaporate. Like a cactus, whenever it rains the cactus absorbs the water, then it preserves it's water, and since it has a slower growth it doesn't require as much water. The spines on a cactus may also help it collect moisture or fog on the air and also help prevent some moisture from escaping the surface of the cactus. Palm trees in the Sahara desert may grow on water sources or in shaded areas. Some plants in a desert grow widely spaced from each other so they have room to absorb enough water that surrounds them. Some plants in the Atacama Desert (the second driest place th the world) would get their water from condensed moist air or fog coming from the Pacific coast during the mornings instead of relying on rainfall. Whenever there's a water source in a desert you would see plants that are greener, taller, and more denser. There may even be a more of a variety of species. Camels, Coyotes, and thorndevils are animals that are adapted to the desert. Most desert animals could be nocturnal to escape the hot days from sleep.
Camels can go for days or even weeks with little or no food or water. Desert people feed their camels, grass, and such grains as wheat and oats. In zoos, the animals eat hay and dry grains. When a camel travels across the desert, food may be hard to find. The animal may have to live on dried leaves, seeds, and whatever desert plants it can find.
Some animals get their water from cactus's, because inside cactus's is water. That's how they grow there spikes and the animals that get there water from the cactus's are tough and don't care about the spikes hitting them.Desert animals have power for surviving into desert for more years. Actually when they get to drink water they drink lots of water some of them were stored and some of them were used so by these method they survive more year. In desert in many years rain comes and small pound will formed and desert animal take the water from there and store it.
Evening Desert Safari Sharjah have adapted ways to help them keep cool and use less water. Camels, for example, can go for days without food and water. Many desert animals are nocturnal, coming out to hunt only when the brutal sun has descended. Some animals, like the desert tortoise in the southwestern United States, spend much of their time underground. Most desert birds are nomadic, crisscrossing the skies in search of food. Because of their very special adaptations, desert animals are extremely vulnerable to introduced predators and changes to their habitat.
Lewis and Clark
All living things need water, because it sustains life. Humans and animals need water to live, we cant live more than a few days without water so drink up! Plants need water to carry out photosynthesis to make food for itself. Water grows the plants which feed many of the animals that we choose to eat.
I think we can not live without water because 84% of our body is made up of water. But I am curious Can we live without water? no we cannot
The body needs water to survive and can only go 3 days without it. Animals and plants also need water. So, a fresh clean water supply was necessary.
